Chef John

Chef John Tumino visits the Pack and cooks a meal to support the homeless.  He and his wife Leigh-Ann are founders of In My Father's Kitchen...check out the great work they do at their site.

"The mission of In My Father’s Kitchen is to feed people spirit, soul and body by using food to open the door to people’s hearts.
The purpose of In My Father’s Kitchen is rooted in the teachings and example of Jesus Christ. In My Father’s Kitchen feeds the hungry naturally and spiritually through food distribution and supplying basic necessities."

A note from Michelle:

Hello all,

It was great to see you all last night. We helped many people with our donations of food and supplies. I personally thought that John's presentation and the work he does with In My Father's Kitchen was inspiring. His willingness to share his mission with us helps us to teach the scouts the importance of being a good citizen in our community and that it is all our jobs to help those in need.

The FM Food Pantry contacted me this morning to arrange delivery of our donation. They will meet us at the Pantry on Thursday 11/21 at 7:20pm. We will be there for only 1/2 hr., we will deliver the food, check existing stock for expiration dates, and stock the shelves with our donation. The Pantry is located at 122 West Seneca Street Manlius. It is located in the back of the building.

One of the awards your son can earn is the Citizenship Beltloop and/or pin. For the beltloop there are 3 criteria he must accomplish, one of them is participating in a community service event with the pack. If you participated in the food drive or plan to participate in stocking at the pantry this would meet that requirement. If your scout accomplishes the other 2 requirements for the beltloop or the the 5 requirements for the pin we will award him at the next pack meeting. Please let us or your den leader know in advance so we can have the award ready for him. Below is the list of requirements for this award:
