February 2019 Newsletter

posted Feb 2, 2019, 12:57 PM by Mary Russell
Hi Pack 153 Families!

February is here, as is winter in full force!  I counted 4 inclement weather days from school last month!  However, that has not slowed down Pack 153.  The Winter Excursion hosted by Troop 51 was a great success.  The sunshine, activity, fires, and warm cabin helped combat a chilly day.  Our scouts especially enjoyed learning about fire building and knife skills.  Den meetings continue for our scouts to work on meeting requirements for advancement.  Last week our younger scouts learned about the importance of playing games with friends and family, Bears learned about aerodynamics and paper airplanes as well as what it is like to be a new kid in a new environment, Webelos practiced their construction skills, and Arrow of Light scouts learned from Troop 51 leaders what to expect after crossing over into Scouts BSA.

Many thanks to all of you for supporting our pack as we experience a transition in leadership.  We welcome Mike Russell as our new Den Leader for the Lions/Tigers/Wolves and we thank Allison Weber for working on updating the website/social media.  On Sunday, February 3rd we will be having a Leadership meeting.  I've had a request to change the time to 5:30.  If that time works for all of those who plan to attend, then we'll plan to meet then.  If the new time is a challenge, please let me know and we'll keep the meeting time the same.  This is a business meeting to support Pack 153 activities.  Attending should be Cub Master, Committee Chair, Treasurer, Den Leaders, District Roundtable Representative, Training Coordinator, Website/Media Master, and anyone else interested in supporting Pack 153.  An agenda will be sent in an upcoming email.

Yours in Scouting,
Kathy Fortner
